I just can't believe someone would say this about a child!?

Yes, unfortunately I CAN believe someone would say that. It's sad, but many believe that conditions like Autism and ADD/ADHD are made up as an excuse for poor behavior. As a special ed aide, I know that these conditions are real, not as real as the parents of these kids do, but real enough. I am amazed that you kept your cool and didn't slap that woman across her face. Let's hope, for her children's sake, that she never has a special child.
