Continuance on "scared" question concerning husband/vet comments and puppy dying question?

The vet comment is very telling , you really should not ignore check ups as they can keep the dog much healthier by catching problems before you have to spend thousands. Vaccinations Protect you too. Heart worm preventative is a must, before you have to pay thousands to rid your dog of a fatal problem. You see, a dog needs regular medical care to stay healthy. so like others have said, you get the dog, you are responsible for it's welfare. Over 50 years of raising dogs The no vaccinations were the old way of care. Now you vaccinate and give preventative care You are doing your dogs a disservice by being ignorant of how you care for them. You don't run them in for every little thing but vaccinations protect you too. And heart worms will kill a perfectly fine dog, that is just common sense. not giving it heart worm preventative, that the dog can get from mosquito bites, and won't show up till the dog drops from a plugged up heart, that is just being cheap and it is a simple preventive measure that you were too ignorant to protect your dog with.
