Has anybody ever had a kid that woke up terrorized because she saw red dots in the middle of the night?

My 3 year old has been waking up terrorized because she sees red dots that she calls red bugs. She is jumping and pointing at them. I know that she isn't dreaming because it lasts for an hour and she remembers it in the morning. What could this be?
